THE STORY / My mindset on what successful student education is has been challenged during my time in the US.  I had relished the academic rigour and the predictable structure of Singapore schools as the best education that I can provide for my children.

However, being exposed to the US education system has given me a new understanding that it takes more than academic rigour for our children to have successful educational outcomes.  It needs to also incorporate creativity, healthy motivation, resilience through failure - amongst other attributes - for our children to thrive in the learning environment.

THE PLAN / Through my blog, we will explore the attributes of American education and culture.  I have gleaned new perspectives and am eager to share ideas that may be helpful to us in Singapore.

More excitingly, I have partnered with leading US education thinkers and practitioners to give us access to research-based resources and engagement opportunities with experts in topics such as parenting, teaching pedagogies and, managing administrative and policy wide education changes.

With different perspectives, we can exchange ideas and work together as a community to influence a Singapore education journey that will allow our children to learn in a healthy and innovative environment.
